Our Biography

The Tombstone Repertory Company (TRC) was formed in 1978 and incorporated by the Arizona Corporation Commission to exclusively perform Old Thyme Melodramas' for  residents and visitors of City of Tombstone and surrounding areas of Cochise County and Southern Arizona. 

TRC exclusively stages Old Thyme Melodramas through the creative performance, writing, set design, production, costuming expertise and numerous other capabilities of its members. Anyone who is interested in donating any of these talents or has a desire to assist behind-the-scenes, is encouraged to join our organization.

The Repertory Company works diligently to enhance the theatrical performing talents of local residents (as well the talents of those from surrounding areas in the  county) through the  performing arts.

TRC has staged melodramas written by the late Tim Kelly, writer for the television comedy war field hospital series MASH.

This theater group has been fortunate to call historic Schieffelin Hall its home since forming and is the envy of many community theater organizations throughout Cochise County for being able to remain in one performing arts center for almost thirty years.

TRC is a cooperative partner with the Arizona Historic Foundation, with whom equipment for staging productions has been purchased as well as assisting in producing the annual Western Film Festival and Symposium, both in Schieffelin Hall.

TRC is headed by a five-member Board of Directors: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasure and one Board Member-At-Large.  The General Membership meeting is held on the third Tuesday of the month.  Board meetings are held monthly on the fourth Tuesday in the Green Room of Schieffelin Hall. 

TRC, a 501-c3 non-profit tax exempt organization with the Internal Revenue Service, has earned a reputation of providing fun, presentational performances encouraging audience participation and interaction. Our comedy melodramas depict Tombstone's mining heydays dating from 1879 to 1910.
